ABOUT NOSHORT

Learn from YouTube without the noise

Why NoShort exists

YouTube holds some of the best teaching anywhere, but it is built to keep you watching, not to help you learn. You open it for a lecture and leave an hour later having watched Shorts, trending clips and whatever the recommendations chose. NoShort is built by a learner who wanted the teachers without the distractions.

How it works

You start by saying what you want to learn — an exam, a skill, a tool — in your own words. NoShort tidies the name, finds the YouTube channels that teach it and suggests a few to start with. You confirm or change them, and your feed for that topic shows only their videos. Separate topics stay separate, so preparing for an exam and learning design never mix.

What you will not see

No Shorts. No trending tab. No recommendations from channels you did not choose. Even the “Up next” list beside a video only comes from your own channels, and focus mode hides it altogether.

Discover: learning paths for each topic

Signed-in learners can switch on Discover. Every night it studies each topic and its channels, then builds Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced learning paths in a sensible order, highlights strong lessons from channels you do not follow yet, and suggests channels worth adding. Promotional and off-topic videos are filtered out, and nothing is added to your feed without your say.

Focus and progress

NoShort keeps your saved lessons, watch history and where you stopped in each video, and its focus report shows how much time you actually spent learning. Without an account all of this stays in your browser; signing in keeps it with you across devices.

The videos belong to their creators

NoShort plays videos through YouTube's official embedded player and links back to every creator. Creators keep their audience. NoShort is free, supported by clearly labelled advertising placed away from the lessons.
